Parampoojya Prabhakar Sardeshmukh Maharaj as he was fondly addressed by all was a visionary who aimed to serve the masses. He believed that a healthy world could only be achieved with individual health and peace. He constantly encouraged and guided the young generation who he believed have the potential to shape their future and make a change for themselves and the world.
He was born on 25th November 1920 at Tadval near Solapur in a family with a legacy in Ayurveda and spirituality. He was initially guided by his respected parents Shri. Keshav Sardeshmukh and Smt. Radha Sardeshmukh and later found his Sadguru, Shri. Marutinath Mali Maharaj in Pune in 1940. Sardeshmukh Maharaj was himself was an authority in Ayurveda and spirituality and was a master of the Vedic knowledge and traditional indian music and arts. He was a liberal person who also appreciated the technology and its advances and always encouraged the righteous blend of the best of ancient Indian knowdge and today’s technology in the interest of the mankind.
His students consisted from all the strata of the society and different nationalities as well. What he was eager to see in any student was the urge to learn and the acceptance to take the efforts needed to excel in any learning. Stalwarts and maestros from various fields visited him to take his advice and learn from him. He had a unique teaching style which was apt for the individual who was to learn from him. He constantly emphasized in the core values, principles and ethics in life and himself set an example to all by his simplicity and low profile which encrusted a vast treasure of knowledge and wisdom.
Sardeshmukh Maharaj founded the Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan trust in 1950 by the blessings of his Sadguru and aimed to serve for universal peace through the Vedic knowledge and ancient Indian arts and sciences. Through this trust he has given a foundation and opportunity to study these subjects and preach them to the world. Sardeshmukh Maharaj attained Mahasamadhi on 29th August 1996 at an age of 76 years and his Samadhi is next to the ‘ Gurusthan’ in the serene premises of the Trust.
